and i ain’t a liar!

I promise you this guys….If you eat this one time..you will not be able to go back to regular syrup!!!

We went up to my mom’s house and she fed it to us! life changing. LIFE. CHANGING.divine syrup--literally the best syrup HANDS DOWN. ever. in the history of pancakes. So delicious. pinky promise. (2)

I half this recipe and it feeds me and my three kids!

when adding the last two ingredients the syrup foams up…so make sure your pot is big enough or in the sink!

then add over pancakes…or french toast..or crepes. or waffles. or heck..stick a straw in it and just drink it.

P.S….this would be AMAZING on fried french toast! Have you tried it? IT’s worth the calories!

Does this save or do you need to eat it all at that sitting? It looks divine.

I made this with half the butter (by accident ) and almond milk since dairy doesn’t agree with my nursing baby. Yummo!! Definitely will make again.

I made a big pancake dinner while we were snowed in at the house only to discover that we were out of syrup!!! So pinterest to the rescue and I found this recipe…. OH MY! It is so amazingly good! Why would I ever want anything else now, I have eaten way too much food and could not be happier.

I make the same recipe for syrup but I do 1 cup of sugar and not 2. It still tastes divine! Just trying to save the amount of sugar.

I want to make this but don’t have the baking soda on hand. Is it a necessary item? Or could I go without it?

Where has this been all my life?! Incredible! Regular syrup won’t cut it anymore. I used organic sugar whose color has a slightly darker color than plain granulated sugar, My syrup resulted in a darker color than the one depicted. I unashamedly confess I consumed much of it on things other than pancakes; ice cream, graham cracker, a spoon.

I actually use this recipe all the time for a glaze I put on cakes before I frost them. I use different flavors for the type cake I’m doing but it make them amazingly moist! poke some holes in the cake layer and pour the hot mixture over them and brush it around evenly. YUM!!!

We have used this recipe for years, kids don’t like anything else. The longer you cook the darker and thinker it gets, I normally bring to a boil than cook 5 to 7 minutes on low. Also you don’t have to use buttermilk, any milk is good. 😃
